Here’s what we’re working on for Monday’s editions ...
Kenosha News Sports Editor David Marran and Sports Writer Mike Larsen discussed Big Ten expansion on the “Sports Take” segment of Wednesday’s Weekday Report at kenoshanews.com.
Larsen chimed in on the subject in Thursday’s paper while Paul McKillip, who covered the Wisconsin Badgers in the 1980s and 1990s for the News, offered his opinion in Friday’s editions.
In Saturday’s editions, Marran expounds on the opinion he offered in Wednesday’s Weekday Report.
We want to know what you think of the concept. Is it a good idea? Which school or schools would you like to see added?
Let us know via e-mail at sports@kenoshanews.com, at kenoshanews.com or on the Kenosha News’ Facebook page. We will print responses in Sunday’s Kenosha News.
Pick bowls, win prizes
Your proficiency at picking college football bowl winners could win you prizes!
Beginning today, the Kenosha News is giving you a chance to pick the winners of 27 college football games in our second annual online “U Pick Em: Final Exam” contest.
Entering the contest is easy. Just log on to kenoshanews. com and click on the “U Pick Em” logo on the contest page or visit the sports section at kenoshanews.com. After registering, start picking by clicking on the box next to the team you think will win.
In the spirit of our annual Football Poll, the entrant who gets the most games correct will win the grand prize of restaurant certificates and Kenosha News apparel. The score of the Wisconsin-Miami game in the Dec. 29 Champs Sports Bowl will be used to break any ties.
County clash
The Tremper boys basketball team will be after its first win of the season tonight.
The 0-5 Trojans host Wilmot in a non-conference game at the Tremper gym at 7:30 p.m.
Wilmot fell to 1-6 with a 49-47 Southern Lakes Conference loss to Delavan-Darien on Thursday night.
We will have coverage in words (with Jeremy Reeves reporting) and pictures (with Brian Passino shooting) in Saturday’s Kenosha News.
Also tonight, Shoreland faces a tough task when it takes on Racine Park in the Lakeshore Holiday Classic at Racine Case at 8:45. Park is 5-0 and ranked 12th in the latest Wissports.net Division-1 Coaches poll.
Look for coverage of these and all games involving County schools in Saturday’s Kenosha News and on kenoshanews.com.
Scoreboard
Keep up to date on all five basketball games involving Kenosha County teams at kenoshanews.com or on our Facebook page.
We will be updating scores on NewsNow and on our Facebook page throughout the evening.
