More money for poll champ
The Kenosha News Football Poll will ring in its 41st year with more prize money for the champion.
The weekly champion will receive $75, instead of the customary $50, which has been the take since the days of Bart Starr ... as Packer coach, not player!
Between now and the middle of November, readers can take a shot at winning the weekly prize by filling out the Poll and returning it to the News by 7 p.m. Friday, which is the starting time for high school games.
The game is simple. Simply pick the winners of the first 14 contests each week by marking the box next to that team. For the 15th game, entrants are asked to pick a score in case of a tie.
Ballots must be submitted to the Kenosha News by 7 p.m. Friday. Ballots can also be mailed to the Kenosha News (5800 Seventh Ave., Kenosha, 53143) as long as they reach us by Friday’s deadline. One entry per person per household please.
The ballot is also available online at kenoshanews.com.
The entrant who gets the most games correct or is closest on the tiebreaker is the weekly champion.
In case of a tie, the entrant who is closest to the combined score of the 15th game will be declared the champion.
There are instances where the tiebreaker is the same. In that case, co-champions are declared and each winner receives $75.
The results and weekly champion will be featured in Tuesday’s Kenosha News.
The Poll will conclude with the annual “Pass The Turkey” contest in November. In the finale, the Poll champion will receive $75 while the next 10 finishers will receive a grocery certificate.
Good luck!
