Opening of city softball tournament rained out
Rainy weather delayed the start of the Kiwanis Breakfast Club City Softball Tournament on Friday at Poerio Park.
The 45th annual tournament was originally scheduled to include 12 men’s games on Friday — six in the top bracket and six in the bottom bracket — to be played at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
Those men’s contests will now be played at 8, 9 and 10 this morning, weather permitting, according to tournament director Greg Feivor.
Feivor also said all of the other games on Saturday’s schedule, including those in the women’s division, will be pushed back about 3 hours from their original start times.
Women’s Touch Painting/Big Shotz (men) and Gerb’s Tap (women) are the tournament’s defending champions.
