Parkside women’s basketball team adds two players
The UW-Parkside women’s basketball team announced the signing of combo guard Jessica Brito and wing Danielle Slivka on Thursday.
The high school seniors signed National Letters of Intent and will attend Parkside in 2010.
“I am very excited with the addition of these two young ladies,” Parkside coach Jenny Kenesie said. “They both come from winning programs that compete at a very high level on their high school teams as well as within their AAU programs. Their winning mentality will be invaluable.”

“Jessica is a great athlete who plays very hard on both ends of the floor,” Kenesie said. “She can impact both sides of the floor with her presence and that will be a huge asset for our team.”
From Johnsburg, Ill.Slivka attends Johnsburg (Ill.) High School and led the Skyhawks to a 27-8 mark and a third straight Fox Valley Conference title. The 5-9 all-conference player averaged 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists last year. Slivka is also a two-time, all-conference cross country runner.
“Danielle is a tremendous athlete and her best basketball is ahead of her,” Kenesie said. “With her athleticism, she will be able to explode to the basket and will be very difficult to guard.”
