SOMERS — With all of the early-season injuries on the UW-Parkside men’s basketball team, the Rangers have slowly introduced a number of new players.
Tuesday night was the official unveiling of Jamere Dismukes.

The freshman point guard scored a career-high 17 points in just his second collegiate game as Parkside blasted NAIA Judson (Ill.), 98-74, in a non-conference game at the DeSimone Gymnasium.
Dismukes missed eight of the first 10 games due to injury and personal leave.
“This was my first game back (since Nov. 17) and I had it in my mindset that I was going to play well,” Dismukes said. “Just being back on the court with my brothers felt good.”
The Rangers (6-4) captured their third straight victory heading into a two-week break. Parkside closes out its non-conference slate in hosting Upper Iowa on Dec. 29 before playing 16 straight games in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Parkside, which was down to eight healthy players at one point this season, has suddenly discovered some depth heading into its most important stretch of the season.
At long last ... depth
“That’s what is so interesting to me,” Parkside coach Luke Reigel said. “We’ve played ten games and I’m not sure we’re anything like what we’re going to be in a month. The injuries have really forced us to develop some depth, which we’ve never had here. I think we’re deeper than we’ve ever been. Now, it’s just a matter of getting all those guys some experience.”
After a relatively competitive first half, the Rangers completely dominated the Eagles (2-10). Parkside led 49-39 at halftime and opened the second half with a 33-8 run. The Rangers built a 62-47 lead before rattling off 20 consecutive points in taking an 82-47 advantage with just over nine minutes remaining.
Grant Johnson finished with 19 points, five assists and three rebounds, while Zach Blesich had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists. Dismukes was explosive off the bench with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting in just 18 minutes.
“I hope he doesn’t think he’s a scorer now, let’s put it that way,” Riegel joked. “He’s got a ton of potential just like all of our young players.”
Parkside shot 58 percent (38-for-65) en route to its highest-scoring game of the season. The Rangers also broke the 90-point barrier in a 92-60 win over Northland International on Nov. 17.
