Jadee Rooney broke a 66-all tie with her fifth 3-pointer with 30 seconds left Friday and the UW-Parkside women’s basketball team held on for a 71-66 victory over Winona State at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul, Minn.

The Rangers (2-0) led by as many as 11 in the second half before the Warriors (1-1) methodically got back into the game, finally drawing even at 62 apiece with just less than 3 minutes left.

Amanda Gibson hit four free throws and Brittany Hogen coverted a layup to aide Rooney’s heroics down the stretch as Winona State never grabbed the lead.
