SOMERS — After injuring her hip during Friday’s win over St. Joseph, the status of Whitefish Bay Dominican’s Allazia Blockton for Saturday night’s Division 4 regional championship game against host Shoreland Lutheran was in doubt.
Blockton eventually played through the pain and ended up putting real hurt on the Pacers — pouring in 28 points with 12 rebounds in a 62-49 victory. The win for third-seeded Dominican (15-7) avenged a pair of one-point losses this season to No. 2 Shoreland in Metro Classic Conference regular-season play.
SOMERS — Shoreland Lutheran girls basketball coach Holly Bahr observed that basketball appears to be fun for Hannah Harmeyer right now.
With performances like Friday night, how could it not be?

SOMERS — Opposing ball handlers are in for an uncomfortable 32 minutes when they face the Wilmot girls basketball team.

Two state-ranked foes will square off in a non-conference girls basketball matchup when Shoreland Lutheran hosts Wilmot at 7:30 tonight in Somers.
In the first WisSports.net/WBCA state poll released last week, Wilmot (6-0) was ranked No. 6 in Division-2, while Shoreland (4-2) was ranked No. 7 in Division-4.
A slow start doomed the state-ranked Shoreland girls basketball team on Thursday night.
