The state-ranked Shoreland soccer team kept its four-year record perfect in the Patriot Games Invitational Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Wauwatosa Saturday.

The Pacers, ranked fifth in the latest Division-3 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association poll, won the title with a 5-0 win over MIlwaukee Heritage Christian. This is Shoreland’s fourth year in the event and the Pacers have won the event each year while going 12-0.

Shoreland improved to 9-1-2 Saturday thanks to two goals and an assist from Erik White and two assists each from Ryan Kurth and Mike Roekle. Also scoring for Shoreland were David Hahlbeck, Trent Schwartz and Christian Straight.

CLS victorious

Nick Svehla scored in the 25th minute and Christian Life never looked back in a 2-0 victory over host Milwaukee Lutheran.

“The first half we played some of our best soccer of the year,” CLS coach Alan Krass said. “We dominated possession, our passing was very sharp and we were able to keep the pressure on.”

Despite 19 shots on net, the Eagles (8-3) managed only one first half goal. According to Krass, Milwaukee Lutheran controlled the play in the second half until Jared Ventura got free for an insurance goal in the 62nd minute.

Svehla and Ventura also had assists. Krass credited Josiah Berg, Brian McDonald, Dan Hood, Kyle Zeman and Bruce Kim with stellar defense. Jacob Rozema had seven saves in the shutout.

Prairie bests Bradford

Racine Prairie made the most of its opportunities in beating Bradford 3-1 in non-conference action at Ameche Field.

The Red Devils (6-5-1) evened the score at the 10-minute mark on a goal by Esaie Lira off a Vigan Zeqiri assist. Prairie answered five minutes later and didn’t look back scoring on what Bradford coach Matt Kellner deemed a questionable penalty kick in the 36th minute.
