Here’s a look at the Kenosha County girls headed to the WIAA Individual State Tennis Tournament, which runs today through Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison:

Karyn Guttormsen, Bradford

*Overview: Seeded seventh in the Division-1 singles bracket. ... Highest seeded singles player in school history for the second straight year. ... Advanced to the third round last year as an eighth seed before bowing out to Green Bay Southwest sophomore Rachel Allen 6-2, 7-5. ... Ranked second in Wisconsin, 14th in the region and 165th nationally among high schoolers by Tennisrecruiting.net.

*Record: 27-1

*First match: After a first round bye, Guttormsen will play the winner of today’s match between Hudson senior Julia Johnson (23-2) and Greendale senior Lauren Piotrowski (14-5) on 10 a.m. Friday.

*Road to State: Qualified for State by winning the No. 1 singles’ championship at the Brookfield East sectional.

*Season highlights: Southeast Conference and sectional champion for the second straight year. ... Only loss was against sixth-seeded Allen. ... Currently holds a 54-4 record in just two seasons at Bradford.

Megan Humphreys, Tremper

*Overview: One of seven players receiving a placement seed (10-16) in the Division-1 singles bracket.

*Record: 22-7

*First match: In a battle of SEC freshmen, Humphreys plays Muskego’s Amy Upthagrove 4:30 p.m. today.

*Road to State: Advanced to State with a second-place finish in No. 1 singles at the Brookfield East sectional. Recorded straight-set wins over State qualifiers Bridget Noack of Brookfield East and Nicole Spiel of Brookfield Central at the sectional before falling to Guttormsen.

*Season highlights: Took over the Trojans’ No. 1 spot before playing a single varsity match. ... Placed second at SEC Tournament. ... Defeated first-round State opponent Upthagrove in straight sets in the SEC dual on Sept. 3 and at the SEC Tournament on Oct. 3.

Trina Capelli, Bradford

*Overview: One of 16 special qualifiers in the Division-1 field.

*Record: 18-3

*First match: The two-time State qualifier faces Rhinelander’s Priyanka Sikka (25-4) in a first-round match 2 p.m. today. Sikka, the Hodags’ No. 1 singles player, was the Wisconsin Valley Conference and Marshfield sectional champion.

*Road to State: Finished second at No. 2 singles at the Brookfield East sectional. ... The sophomore lost to State qualifier Jessica Tang of Brookfield Central in the sectional championship.

*Season highlights: Won the No. 2 singles’ crown at the SEC Tournament. ... Combined with Guttormsen, Kim Jozefiak and Megha Shah to form a dominating singles’ lineup. ... Moved to singles after competing at State in doubles last year.

Jenna Humphreys,

Brianna Riley, Tremper

*Overview: Advanced to State with a third-place finish at No. 1 doubles at the Brookfield East sectional.

*Record: 20-9

*First match: The sophomore duo faces Nicolet’s Erica Lurie and Rebeca Raj in a first-round match 5:30 p.m. today.

*Road to State: Just one year after advancing to State as a special qualifier, Humphreys and Riley secured an automatic berth this season. In a rare Bradford-Tremper match at State, Humphreys and Riley suffered a second-round defeat to Red Devils’ Abby Werwie and Capelli last year.

*Season highlights: Humphreys and Riley reached the 20-win plateau against some of the state’s elite teams. ... The tandem won the SEC championship at No. 1 doubles.

Amanda Dick, St. Joseph

*Overview: Seeded third in the Division-2 singles’ bracket. ... Became the first player in St. Joseph history to medal at State with a fourth-place finish last year.

*Record: 22-4

*First match: After a first-round bye, Dick will face either Shorewood’s Lydia Hellwig (12-9) or Xavier’s Maria Georgen (21-5) in the second round noon Friday.

*Road to State: Dick secured a State berth with a second-place finish at No. 1 singles at the Jackson sectional. ... The three-time State qualifier lost to University School freshman Maddy Ecker, 6-1, 6-1 in the sectional championship.

*Season highlights: Three of Dick’s four losses have come against Ecker, the No. 2 seed in the tournament. ... Dick defeated Dominican’s Caroline McGuire, a placement seed in the Division-2 State field, in straight sets before falling to Ecker in three sets at the Midwest Classic Conference Tournament.

Gian Matteucci, St. Joseph

*Overview: One of eight special qualifiers in the Division-2 singles’ field.

*Record: 21-2

*First match: Matteucci plays Regis’ Annie Lindsay (13-8) in a first-round match 6:30 p.m. today.

*Road to State: The three-time State qualifier finished second at No. 2 singles at the Jackson sectional. ... Matteucci lost to University School’s Saira Khanna in straight sets in the sectional championship. ... Khanna is the No. 4 seed at State, while teammate Maddy Ecker is the No. 2 seed.

*Season highlights: Matteucci won 18 straight matches to start the season. ... The senior suffered her first loss to Khanna in the MCC Tournament and then lost once again to the University School senior at sectional, marking her only two defeats.

Alaina Anderson,

Megan Irving,

St. Joseph

*Overview: One of eight special qualifiers in the Division-2 doubles’ field.

*Record: 16-8

*First match: The freshmen duo plays East Troy’s Paige Klumb and Taryn Knudsen in a first-round match 8 p.m. today.

*Road to State: After playing most of the season at No. 2 doubles, Anderson and Irving were inserted into the No. 1 spot and won their only match at the Racine Prairie sub-sectional.

*Season highlights: Placed third at No. 2 doubles at the MCC Tournament.
