Tremper enjoyed the most success of any of the seven Kenosha County boys soccer teams this season, finishing with a 22-2-3 overall record and losing 1-0 to eventual champion Muskego in the Division-1 quarterfinals of the WIAA State Tournament. It should be no surprise then that the Trojans headline the 2009 All-County Soccer Team with seven first-teamers in voting done by county coaches.

A few additional notes regarding the selection of the team — which again, the Kenosha News didn’t have any input on: St. Joseph had no first-team, second-team or honorable mention All-Midwest Classic Conference honorees, so that is why they didn’t have any players voted All-County. ... Central coach Jeremy Williams submitted his list of candidates, then a week later requested that they not be considered. So they were placed on the second team.

Here is a closer look at the All-County first team, by school:

TREMPER

David Caban, Jr.

The midfielder scored 17 goals and tallied seven assists and was named All-Midwest region, first-team All-State, Southeast Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-SEC.

Henrik Egly, Jr.

The midfielder and two-year captain scored 19 goals and contributed a team-high 22 assists along with being named honorable mention All-State and first-team All-SEC.

Connor Hildebrandt, Jr.

The first-team All-SEC sweeper played a big factor in the Trojans only giving up 18 goals in 27 games. He also scored one goal and had three assists.

Jimmy Jones, Jr.

The second-team All-SEC goalkeeper allowed an average of 0.69 goals a game as the Trojans played a tough schedule.

Jesus Oseguera, Sr.

The co-captain and first-team All-SEC forward led the Trojans with 22 goals and also dished out 12 assists.

Nathan Oster, Sr.

The second-team All-SEC forward recorded 14 goals and 11 assists. He was the “most irreplaceable player from a coaching standpoint all season,” according to Tremper coach Chris Tindall. “Did our dirty work wherever it needed to be done,” Tindall added.

Alex Ridolfi, Sr.

The first-team All-SEC stopper and two-year captain contributed seven goals and three assists.

BRADFORD

Cesar Gutierrez, So.

With 24 goals, the All-SEC first-teamer finished three short of tying the school single-season record. Playing midfield and forward, the Red Devils co-captain scored the game-winner against seventh-ranked Waunakee and also added 12 assists.

Esaie Lira, Jr.

The second-team All-SEC forward scored 17 goals and had four assists. He scored two goals, including the game-winner in the final 3 minutes in a victory over Division-3 State champion Racine St. Catherine’s and Bradford’s only goal in a 2-1 sectional semifinal loss to Lake Geneva Badger.

Jeffrey Reyes, Sr.

The first-team All-SEC defender and co-captain patrolled the Red Devils’ defensive backfield.

Vigan Zequiri, Sr.

The co-captain scored five goals and added six assists as a midfielder. His highlights included scoring the game-winner against Milwaukee Hamilton and assisting on Gutierrez’s game-winner against seventh-ranked Waunakee.

SHORELAND

LUTHERAN

Tyler Freitag, Jr.

The repeat All-County first-teamer and unanimous All-Midwest Classic Conference defender was a captain and three-time letterwinner for the Pacers and played center back in their 4-4-2 attack.

Ryan Kurth, Jr.

The co-captain and first-team All-MCC South midfielder contributed eight goals and 11 assists. The three-sport athlete and three-time letterwinner finished his career with 16 goals and 20 assists.

Erik White, Sr.

A repeat All-County and All-MCC first-teamer, he was named the unanimous MCC South Offensive Player of the Year and honorable mention All-State. White set career school records in goals (73), points (189) and games played (105).

CHRISTIAN LIFE

Nick Svehla, Sr.

The co-captain and second-team All-MCC forward set a single-season school record by scoring 26 goals. He also tallied seven assists.

Jared Ventura, Sr.

The first-team All-MCC midfielder and two-time captain was voted the Eagles’ MVP his final two seasons. His 29 assists this year were a single-season school record, and he also scored 20 goals.

SECOND TEAM

TREMPER

Gabe Puterbaugh, Sr.

The honorable mention All-SEC defender tallied two goals and one assist.

Matt Steinmetz, Sr.

The honorable mention All-SEC defender recorded two goals and two assists.

Matt Vecchitto, Jr.

The honorable mention All-SEC midfielder posted 17 goals and 12 assists.

BRADFORD

Kiko Delgado, So.

The forward/midfielder contributed two goals and three assists for the Red Devils.

Dylan Rausch, Jr.

The versatile goalkeeper and midfielder made many spectacular saves in a 2-0 loss against state-ranked Tremper and also scored two goals.

Landon Luzar, So.

The defender also finished with one assist.

SHORELAND LUTHERAN

Randy Mills, So.

The honorable mention All-Midwest Classic Conference goalie made 79 saves (1.22 goals against average) and posted a school-record 12 shutouts.

Trent Schwartz, Jr.

The forward/midfielder earned second-team All-Midwest Classic Conference recognition and tallied 13 goals and 20 assists. His 49 career assists rank second on the school’s all-time list behind his brother Trevor Schwartz (53), a 2008 graduate.

CENTRAL

Matt LeMeer, Sr.

The second-team All-Southern Lakes Conference goalie averaged 11.5 saves per game.

Spencer McCoy, Sr.

The All-Southern Lakes Conference second-teamer scored 18 goals.

CHRISTIAN LIFE

Kyle Zeman, Jr.

The All-Midwest Classic Conference second teamer helped lead an Eagles’ defense that allowed 27 goals in 26 games. He also tallied three goals and two assists.

WILMOT

Brandon Jones, Sr.

The Panthers’ goalie earned honorable mention All-Southern Lakes Conference recognition.
