The Tremper boys tennis team advanced all seven flights in winning the WIAA Divison-1 subsectional Tuesday at Bradford.

The Trojans finished first out of eight teams with 24 points, while Bradford was fifth with eight. Central and Wilmot didn’t score a point.

Players reaching the semifinals at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles along with the finalists at the five other flights advanced to today’s sectional at Lake Geneva Badger.

Advancing for Tremper were junior David Carswell at No. 1 singles, freshman Jake Humphreys at No. 2 singles, junior Willie Horn at No. 3 singles, junior Andrew Fields at No. 4 singles, Tomas Goldsmith and Conner Hildebrandt at No. 1 doubles, Adam Gagliardi and Jake Riley at No. 2 doubles and Zach Cooper and Jake Larsen at No. 3 singles.

Advancing for Bradford were Ron Palmen and Anthony Greco at No. 1 doubles.

SJ advances in doubles

St. Joseph’s No. 1 doubles team Harry Feuerbach and Ryan Aschenbrener advanced out of the WIAA Division-2 subsectional at Racine Prairie.

Feuerbach and Aschenbrener defeated Thomas More’s Joe Seeby and Conner Jonas, 6-1, 6-1 in the first round and advanced to Thursday’s sectional at Pleasant Valley Tennis Club in Jackson.

The Lancers were one of three teams finishing with four points at the nine-team meet. Racine Prairie won the subsectional with 24 points.

St. Joseph’s No. 2 doubles team of Chris McKeon and Kris O’Toole defeated Martin Luther’s Adam Sullivan and Charles Thelen, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 before falling in the second round. McKeon and O’Toole lost to Micah Lofholm and Charlie Raddatz of Catholic Memorial, 6-3, 6-4.

The Lancers lost all four of their singles matches. Ben Anderson lost to Prairie’s Max Zuvor, 6-1, 6-0, Zach Wenta lost to Racine St. Catherine’s Jon Murphy, 6-1, 6-0, Zach Fitzpatrick lost to Catholic Memorial’s Kevin Lanigan, 6-0, 6-0 and Eric Dienthal lost to St. Catherine’s Kevin Majowski, 6-0, 6-0.

St. Joseph’s No. 3 doubles team of Matt Matteucci and Jack McKeon lost to Catholic Memorial’s John Selas and Tim Siegler, 7-6(7), 4-6, 7-5.
