Tremper wrestlers start tourney 5-0
The Tremper wrestling team is one step closer to defending its title at the Milwaukee Hamilton Holiday Duals.
Seven Trojans went undefeated as Tremper opened with five dominating wins on the first day of the 12-team tournament.
Tremper outscored its opposition 323-51. The Trojans defeated crosstown rival Bradford (59-15), St. Joseph (75-0), Milwaukee Marshall (49-24), Madison East (82-0) and Wauwatosa (58-12).

“We had a great day all around,” Tremper coach Joel Dutton said. “We wrestled pretty darn well.”
Tremper’s Najee Parker remained undefeated in 13 matches in the heavyweight class. Also finishing 5-0 for the Trojans were Dominic Garcia (119 pounds), Trevor Mongeau (130), David Hood (135), Levi Horton (140), Ty Symoens (160) and Brian Steinbrink (215).
Bradford goes 3-2
Bradford went 3-2. The Red Devils captured victories against Madison East (62-9), St. Joseph (63-12) and Wauwatosa (48-18) and were defeated by Marshall (60-24) and Tremper (59-15).
Bradford’s Armando Narvaez (152 pounds) and teammate Andrew Ulloa (171) each went 5-0.
The tournament continues 10:30 a.m. today.
Tremper won its first title at the tournament last year with a victory over Milwaukee Bradley Tech. Competing on the opposite side of the bracket, Bradley Tech also went 5-0 on Tuesday.
