Wahler takes 2nd in Milwaukee tourney
Wilmot senior-to-be Kailee Wahler will certainly have a few accomplishments to talk about when the Panthers hit the links for their first golf practice on Tuesday.
Wahler took second in the season-ending Junior Tournament of Champions Wednesday at Dretzka Golf Course in Milwaukee.
Wahler qualified for the event by finishing second in the July 22 Whitnall Tournament.
The season-ending event was open to the top three golfers from each of the series’ eight stroke play events.
Wahler finished with a 98 (54-48) in the tournament sponsored by the Milwaukee County Parks Department and Wisconsin PGA.
Leslie Kuda won the tourney with a 95.
Earlier this summer, Wahler won the girls division of the Junior County Open at Brighton Dale Links by seven strokes with a 179 (89-90).
n Elsen 46th: The Kenosha Country Club’s Jared Elsen finished tied for 46th in the Wisconsin State Golf Association’s Junior Boy’s Championship, which concluded Wednesday at The Bog in Saukville.Elsen finished with a 233 (83-75-75).
His totals included five birdies, including three on the final day, and 30 pars.
Mike Sorenson won the tournament with a 204.
