Wilmot boys fall to Badger in basketball
The Wilmot boys basketball team will have to wait until the New Year for another chance at its first conference victory.
The Panthers struggled in the second half in falling to previously winless Badger, 62-48, in a Southern Lakes Conference game Tuesday in Lake Geneva.
Wilmot dropped to 0-3 in the SLC (2-7 overall). The Panthers trailed 29-27 at halftime and were down 40-35 after three quarters.
Wilmot’s Landon Tenhagen scored 12 of his team-high 14 points in the first half.
Badger (1-6, 1-3) connected on nine 3-pointers. Badger’s Laramie Wieseman finished with 18 points and teammate Preston Dailey scored 17.
The Panthers host Union Grove in a SLC game on Jan. 7.
CLS boys to playat Bradley Center
The Christian Life boys basketball team will help kick off the 19th Milwaukee Bucks Prep Series today.
Prior to the Bucks game against the Washington Wizards, the Eagles (4-2) will face Union Grove (2-6) in a non-conference game at 3:15 p.m. at the Bradley Center.
The CLS-Union Grove matchup is one of 15 prep games on the Bucks Prep Series schedule. CLS is the only Kenosha County team slated to participate this season.
A girls game between Cudahy and Union Grove will be played before the CLS-Union Grove game.
Spectators attending the high school games can enter the Bradley Center approximately 30 minutes before tip-off and can enter only through Lobby ‘A’ (Fourth Street and Highland). The Bradley Center will be cleared at the conclusion of the CLS-Union Grove contest.
Buck Trail Archersevent starts Jan. 3
Buck Trail Archers is hosting its popular “Diehard Challenge” — an outdoor 3-D shoot regardless of weather conditions — every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 3 to March 7.
There will be 34 different 3-D targets located in the woods.
Buck Trail Archers is located at 32622 Yahnke Road in Burlington (between Highway 83 and County P).
Also, the Indoor Bowhunter League (available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday), the Free Kids Instructional League (Thursday) and Adults Only Fun Night (Friday) all get under way in January in the heated indoor range. Bowling honors
The Surfside Lanes team won the first half in the Mischief Makers League at Surfside. Members of the team are Donna Maegaard, Sharon Engelmann, Barb Anderson, Andrea Jahns, Emily Hoffelt and Lori Jahns.
