It's all about YOU!

Name: Ben Bakke

Gender: Male

City of residence: Kenosha

Hometown: Beloit

Education: College

Age: 31

Occupation: Financial associate for Thrivent

What is your ideal job? Fireman, always thought that would be an exciting career ever since the movie “Backdraft.”

What is the coolest or strangest thing about your family? The coolest thing about my family is my newborn son. We’ve got big hopes and dreams for him and his potential basketball career for Southern Illinois University.

Do you have any pets? No pets since college when our house had an Oscar which is a fish.

Do you sing in the shower? Not in the shower, but I do a good Dean Martin “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.”

What is your favorite song? I like a lot of Dean Martin and Sinatra when kicking back, but I like Jay Z to get me going.

What is your favorite read? A lot of investment and financial reads so I’m up on things for my clients and myself.

How often do you read the newspaper? Every day!

What is your favorite TV show? I am a big fan of “The Office.”

What TV show are you embarrassed to admit you watch? “It’s always sunny in Philadelphia.” The show is a little off color though so don’t let the kids watch it.

What is your favorite movie? No doubt, “Old School,” that is still the funniest movie since 2000. Pre-2000 you have to go with “Animal House.”

What is your dream job?
Celebrity, it doesn’t look like it takes a lot of brains for that career: i.e. Rosie O’Donnell, Paris Hilton, and Sean Penn.

What are you most likely to be in search of when you raid the fridge after midnight? Ever since I turned 30, the metabolism isn’t what it once was so I’ve backed way off midnight snacking.

If you were sent to the moon with nothing but a book and a book light, what book would you choose? “How to build a spaceship.” I’d be looking for a solution to get back to Earth. The moon looks pretty boring.

If you were on a reality television show, which would you want it to be and why? “Pros versus Joes” on ESPN/Spike TV. I like to take on some former pro athletes and show them how we roll in Wisconsin.

Favorite sports? I play basketball at the Rec and the occasional pick up football game. Golf, too, if you can call what I do golf.

Any hobbies? Right now it’s keeping Ben Jr. fed and happy.

If you could be any superhero, what powers would you have? “Persuasion Man.” Getting people around you to agree with your points of view although my weakness would be my wife.

Are you religious? Yes. I’m a member of Trinity Lutheran.

What is your favorite place to go in Kenosha County? The Yellow bi-level home on 65th Place also known as “The Bakke Estate.”

What’s your favorite ethnic food? Can’t go wrong with good Mexican. I love it all, tacos, burritos and everything else.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you? My skill at prank calls. Even with caller ID I’ll get my friends at work. Once I had someone think they were getting shipped off to the Marines.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? “Do something you love to do, otherwise you’ll go nuts.” That was career advice from my First Sergeant in Korea.

Do you believe in ghosts? Don’t think so, but if there was one in my house I’d charge him rent.

What was your favorite grade in school and why? Senior year of college in the summer of 2000 in college. What can I say? They still talk about it at Southern Illinois University.

What is your pet peeve? Seeing someone being pretentious.
