NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Director of Engineering Department of Public Works 625 - 52nd Street, Room 305 Kenosha, Wisconsin 53140 Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Public Works of the City of Kenosha, Wisconsin in the office of Department of Public Works, 625 52nd Street, Room 305, until 2:00 PM., local time, Wednesday, April 3, 2019, for furnishing all labor and materials necessary for the construction of: Project # 19-1032 Madison Road Reconstruction Madison Road - 18th Avenue to 19th Avenue all in accordance with specifications on file in the office of the Director of Public Works. The project includes spot repair of sidewalks, updating ADA ramps at intersections, complete removal and replacement of all pavement and curb and gutter, providing connection points to the storm sewer system for sump pump discharges, replacement of driveway approaches, storm sewer repairs, and restoring parkway landscaping and any other incidental items necessary to complete said work as shown on the plans and these specifications. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after 2:00PM. Each bid must contain the full name of every person or company interested in the same and must be accompanied by a contract and bid bond, a certified check, or a bank cashier's check, in the sum of five per cent (5%) of the bid, payable to the City of Kenosha as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured within fifteen (15) days of the award of contract. Should any bid be rejected, such check will be forthwith returned to the bidder, and should any bid be accepted, such check will be returned upon the timely and proper execution and securing of the contract. In case the successful bidder shall fail to execute the contract and performance bond, the amount of the bid bond or check shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. The Department of Public Works is in partnership with Quest Construction Data Network. This is a web based initiative that will deliver our construction project advertisements and bid documents to you in a more timely and cost effective way. To obtain bid documents go to www.kenosha.org click on Departments, then click on Public Works, under IN THIS DEPARTMENT click on Project & Maps then scroll to "Click here to access the Public Works projects currently out for bid" to go to Quest's website. A fee of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) will be charged once plans are downloaded. No fee is charged to view the plans. The form provided for "Bidder's Proof of Responsibility" shall be completed and returned to the Director of Engineering not less than five (5) days before the date of bid opening. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish Worker's Compensation and Liability Insurance as enumerated in the specifications. The City of Kenosha reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid considered most advantageous to the City of Kenosha.
