Gary and Patricia Carlino of Oldsmar, Fla., formerly of Kenosha, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Friday.

Gary and the former Patricia Kent met while students at Washington Junior High School. The couple’s wedding was held at Holy Rosary Church, followed by a reception at the Polish Legion Hall, in Kenosha on Jan. 25, 1969.

Gary, a former Marine, worked for Chrysler for 32 years before retiring in 2002. Patricia worked at St. Mark Church and retired from 3 Sisters Deli & Catering.

The Carlinos have three children: Alisa (Corey) Hudson, Jackson, N.J.; Gary (Diana) Carlino Jr., Kenosha; and Amanda Carlino, Redmond, Wash.; and nine grandchildren. They also served as foster parents to 13 children.

The couple stated, “We know after 50 years that love, respect, kindness and commitment are the keys to a lasting relationship. It’s easy to fall in love, but staying in love is the challenge. We have had good times, and bad, but we worked through our challenges with love, commitment and faith in God.”
