Kenoshans Randall and Rita Frye recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and plan to honor the milestone with a family trip at a later date.
Randall Creed Frye and the former Rita Ruth Spiegelhoff met at Kenosha Technical Institute, now Gateway Technical College, where she worked and he was a student. The couple married at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Kenosha on Oct. 26, 1968.
Randall worked in sales and management at Marshall Field, Kleinert, and Firestone before retiring from a supervisory role at AMC/Chrysler after 27 years. Rita provided secretarial and bookkeeping services for the Chamber of Commerce, St. Mary’s Catholic School and the East Side Tennis and Fitness Club. The couple’s interests include camping, golf, bowling leagues, tennis and card clubs as well as coaching and supporting their children and grandchildren at various sporting events.
The Fryes have three children: Caroline (David) Schulte, Christopher Frye and Rebecca (Bryon) Kozak; and five grandchildren.
Randall and Rita attribute the success of their relationship to “patience, a good sense of humor, good friends, a loving family and faith in God.”
