Bob and Judy Gossman, who were residents of Antioch, Ill., for 45 years before moving to Trevor, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July with a reception and dinner at Twin Oaks Country Inn, Wilmot.
Bob and Judy Hostetler met on a blind date on Memorial Day in 1957 and were married a little over a year later at St. Peter Catholic Church in Antioch on July 26, 1958.
Bob worked for Johnson Outboard Marine, Chain O’Lakes Floor Covering and was the owner of Sayner Floor Covering in Libertyville, Ill., for 30 years. Judy worked for Impell Corporation, Baxter Laboratory and Kelly Temporary Services. The Green Bay Packers fans enjoy traveling to their place in the Bahamas and attending cruise-ins with their 1962 Thunderbird.
The Gossmans have five children: Robert (Jennifer) Gossman Jr., Kennesaw, Ga.; Ronald Gossman, Lake Villa, Ill.; Joy (Greg) Gossman Ticsay, Antioch, Ill.; Jody (Joe) Gossman Banasiewicz, Raleigh, N.C.; and Richard (Tracey) Gossman, Antioch, Ill. They also have 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bob and Judy attribute the success of their relationship to love, a sense of humor and communication.
