Gary L. and Shirley M. (Swank) Pitts, residents of Kenosha for 80 years, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family party.
The couple met after the bike races at Washington Bowl and married at Trinity Evangelical Church in Kenosha on Aug. 30, 1958.
Gary retired with 32 years of service from Snap-on Tools in 1995. Shirley worked in food service for Kenosha Unified School District for 39 years until her retirement in 2011. Shirley has been a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Church; Gary has been a member since 1958. Shirley enjoys talking on many WLIP shows.
Gary and Shirley have one son, Mark A. Pitts, and attribute the success of their union to “doing things together and taking life one day at a time.”
