Frank and Marnie Klein of Kenosha celebrated their pending 60th anniversary with a family dinner at the Hob Nob.
The couple met as students at Marquette University, and Frank Klein married Marnie Ingalls on July 18, 1959, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rutherford, N.Y.
Frank grew up in Burlington and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked at Eaton Dynamitc, retiring in 1994.
Marnie grew up in Rutherford, N.Y., and graduated from Marquette with a degree in speech therapy. She was employed as a speech teacher in the Port Washington School District before marriage and worked at Armitage Academy and the Kenosha County Girl Scout Office.
Residents of Kenosha their entire married life, they have three children: Jenny Lowrance (Eddie) of South Yon, Mich.; Pete (Sandy) Klein of Kenosha, and Therese Klein of Shorewood. They have seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
They have been members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha for 57 years. They are also members of Adventures in Lifelong Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
They said their shared faith has been an important part of their married life together. They choose things to do together that they both enjoy, allow for the other’s needs, treat each other with respect and share responsibilities.
