Indian Trail High School and Academy
Parents: Ched and Toni Ballard
Most memorable high school moment: Being sent off to the State Cross Country meet by the entire student body in a parade through the school.
Most influential teacher: Brian Vanderhoef
Class taught: U.S. History
Please explain why: Mr. Vanderhoef is absolutely dedicated to his students, athletes and personal character. He inspires me every day with his authenticity and the way he serves others. With any sort of athletic, academic or personal battle, he was always beside me as my biggest support and most hilarious cheerleader. Uniquely, so much of what I learned from Vandy was just by watching his example. Through it he taught me about mental strength, priorities and the importance of a sense of humor. He puts a smile on everyone’s face like no teacher or coach I’ve ever seen and is extremely effective in impacting lives in the best way.
