Tremper High School
Parents: Tom and Suzanne Watring
Most memorable high school moment: During the football season of my senior year, my team and I won our first homecoming football game in ten years. The win felt so great, as we had worked harder than ever to turn our football program around into the right direction.
Most influential teacher: Val Taylor
Class taught: AP Biology
Please explain why: Mrs. Taylor introduced me to my love of science as a freshman when I took her honors biology class. I performed well in that class, and she encouraged me to take AP Biology as an upperclassman. As a junior, I decided to take on the course and the large workload that came with it. Teaching me throughout the year, Mrs. Taylor helped me discover my love for biological sciences, and specifically microbiology. Without her, I likely would enter college as an undecided science student, but Mrs. Taylor taught me more than well and helped me find what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Intended major/field of study: Microbiology
Role model: My mother and father

What I hope to accomplish in my lifetime: I hope to earn a degree in microbiology and soon after, attend medical school. I currently cannot decide on whether I would like to practice medicine or develop medicine in the lab with my doctorate degree. Either way, I wish to make a career out of researching and/or treating diseases (specifically autoimmune diseases).
