‘TeenZ + GameZ’ meets Wednesday

TWIN LAKES — “TeenZ + GameZ @ Twin LakeZ” meets 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Community Library, 110 S. Lake Ave.

Children ages 12-18 are invited to drop in for snacks and games with a friend.

Prizes will go to those who challenge youth services librarian Jared Hedges and win.

Chess Night at Southwest Library

KENOSHA — Everyone is invited to play chess Wednesday at the Kenosha Chess Association’s Chess Night.

Games are 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave. Those under age 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Puppet show at Community Library

SALEM LAKES — A puppet show begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Library, 24615 89th St.

All ages are welcome. After the show, attendees can use the puppets to put on their own shows.

Gun Safety at Community Library

SALEM LAKES — A program on gun safety will highlight the next meeting of Westosha Dems.

Free and open to the public, the program begins at 6 p.m. in Community Library, 24615 89th St.

Carol McEntegart will prsent “Be SMART: A Conversation about Kids, Guns and Safety.”

The group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America has developed the SMART framework to help parents and adults prevent child gun deaths and injuries. SMART is an acronym for:

S: Secure guns in homes and vehicles.

M: Model responsible behavior.

A: Ask about unsecured guns in other homes.

R: Recognize the risks of teen suicide.

T: Tell your peers to be SMART.

Narcan training at Twin Lakes Fire Department

TWIN LAKES — Narcan training will be offered 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Twin Lakes Fire Department, 236 E. Main St.

Narcan reverses the effects of an opioid overdose to allow the person to receive treatment and move into recovery.

The training includes information about opioids, signs and symptoms of an overdose, how to administer Narcan nasal spray and the laws that protect someone providing aid.

A kit of two doses of Narcan nasal spray is provided to each participant.

Fused glass class at Wilmot Union High School

WILMOT — A class in making a fused-glass sun catcher or jewelry meets 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wilmot Union High School, 11112 308th Ave.

The cost is $20, plus $25 for supplies, payable to the instructor.
