The Big Read book is “Into the Beautiful North” by Luis Alberto Urrea. Copies will be available at the library.
Mystery lovers to discuss Peters book
TWIN LAKES — The “Make Mine a Mystery” book discussion takes place 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Community Library, 110 S. Lake Ave.
This month’s book is “Crocodile on the Sandbank” by Elizabeth Peters. April’s book is “The Big Sleep” by Raymond Chandler.

Female characters focus of Big Read event
KENOSHA — A Big Read program titled “The Magnificent Women of ‘Into the Beautiful North’” takes place 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kenosha Creative Space, 624 57th St.
The program looks at the female characters of the Big Read book, “Into the Beautiful North,” and how they are inspired by American films, particularly “The Magnificent Seven.”
Social Justice Book Club to meet

The club explores books about race, gender, immigration, poverty and criminal justice issues.
