Pair of local shows open Thursday

A pair of local shows will begin short runs on Thursday (Nov. 19). All Saints Catholic School is putting on “Music Man Jr.,” while Christian Life is presenting “Alice in Wonderland.”

Here’s a capsule look at each show:

‘Music Man Jr.’Who: All Saints Catholic School Theater Department

Where: St. Elizabeth Gymnasium, 4816 Seventh Ave.

When: 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 19), 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

Tickets: $5 for adults and $2 for students (sold at the door)

Director: Anne Hassett

Synopsis: “Music Man Jr.” is the story of a man who seeks power, and money, but his heart is changed by children who truly believe in him. He finally does what is right, what he is supposed to do, even when no one is watching.

‘Alice in Wonderland’Who: Christian Life School

Where: Journey Church main auditorium, 10700 75th St.

When: 10:30 a.m., 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 19) and 7 p.m. Nov. 20

Tickets: $10 for adults, $8 for students (tickets are $2 less if purchased in advance); Also all tickets for the 10:30 a.m. show on Thursday are $3.

Director: Deanna Dziedzic

Synopsis: This whimsical tale, adapted by Dziedzic, follows Alice as she journeys through a strange and curious place, and encounters mysterious characters like the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Red Queen. But there is a twist to this story ... it’s just a story ... or is it?
