Back to School Bash today at Lincoln Park

KENOSHA — Holy Assembly Church will host the ninth annual Back to School Bash today starting at 11 a.m. in Lincoln Park.

The event will include the distribution of school supplies, while they last, as well as games, food, prizes and a concert featuring gospel recording artist Melvin Campbell.

The event is free and open to the public.

Holy Assembly Church is located at 2006 60th St.

Memorial UMC rummage sale continues today

ZION, Ill. — A fall rummage sale continues today at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Road, Zion.

Hours will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a bake sale and lunch, and feature half-price and bag sales.

Funds from the sale will go to the church’s operating budget. Money raised through the bake sale and lunch will go the United Methodist Women’s missions.

Textile recycling, clothing drive planned

PLEASANT PRAIRIE — A textile recycling and clothing drive will be sponsored by Living Waters Ministry on Sept. 7.

It will be held 9 a.m. to noon at Pleasant Prairie United Methodist Church, 8405 104th Ave.

They will accept clothing, jackets, coats, paired shoes, towels, linens, curtains and drapes. All items should be clean and placed in white garbage bags. Some rips and stains are acceptable.

The textile products will help Living Waters Ministries continue to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of Kenosha County residents and will continue to support various community programs, agencies and projects.

Somers church offers free diapers, wipes to those in need

SOMERS — Somers Community United Church of Christ, 9918 12th St., is offering free diapers and wipes to families in need from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Parents or authorized caregivers need to bring photo identification and a utility bill with current address.

Women who are expecting may begin visiting the diaper bank at the beginning of their third trimester.
