PLEASANT PRAIRIE — Arvato Digital Services is laying off 95 workers at its Pleasant Prairie location in September but will remain open.
In a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the company said it was separating 40 employees and 55 temporary staff members including new and part-time temporary staff at its 10500 80th Ave. facility in Pleasant Prairie.
A company official said it is closing the location because of “the loss of a customer.”
The affected employees include a quality inspector, 13 materials handlers and 14 team lead workers, none of whom are represented by a union.
Arvato said 55 of the affected temporary workers include 35 material handlers, three final inspectors, four machine operators, three clerks, three final inspectors, five team leads and five DUW employees.
Arvato, a German business services company, provides IT services, financial services and other solutions.
It is a division of Bertelsmann, a media, services and education corporation.
The DWD and its regional Southeast Workforce Development Board will offer rapid response services to the company and the affected workers.
The services include pre-layoff workshops such as resume writing, interviewing, job search strategies and budgeting.
