In its 21st year of business, Kenosha residents are invited to be reintroduced to downtown mainstay Equinox.
Formerly known as the Body and Soul Boutique, it has transformed itself into a botanical boutique featuring an array of indoor plants and plenty of information and products about about being a successful indoor gardener.
Known for two decades as specializing in massage, facials and natural, therapeutic products for caring for yourself, the growth into growing things is a natural extension.
“We’ve always been passionate about plants, gardening, wholesome organic foods ... and it seemed so right to spread our wings a bit into our new offering,” said founder and owner Maria Caravati. “We’ll never abandon our roots of massage therapy and facials, but this is a wonderful outcropping of our focus on wellness and happiness.”
She added that the boutique is now offering a wide range of workshops on gardening and much more, as well as hard-to-find herbs and tomato plants.
Its grand reopening will be Monday, the fall equinox. from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is open to the public and will feature live music, beverages, mini-educational sessions and, for snacks, special herbal plates. There is no charge for admission.
“Come and discover your inner gardener,” said Caravati. “We’re proud to be your new downtown plant shop.”
