Name: Brad Fuhrer
Where do you work? I work at Rehrig Pacific Co. in Pleasant Prairie.
What is your job title and what do you do? I am the materials and shipping manager. My job as materials manager is to ensure we have all of the raw materials needed to make the best quality parts for our customers. As the shipping manager, I oversee all the outbound shipments.
How did you land at Rehrig Pacific? I started delivering roll-out carts with a third-party company for many nearby cities. At the time, I already had family working at Rehrig. Eventually my oldest brother, David, started with Rehrig as a machine operator and worked his way up to a maintenance technician. Two years later, I started working with Rehrig as a machine operator, progressing all the way up to my current position. One year after I started at Rehrig, my youngest brother, Ryan, joined our team as a machine operator and is now the materials supervisor. As stated in our company’s values, “family comes first.” Not only has everyone here become family, but Rehrig has truly treated my family well.
What does that mean to employees as a whole? We demonstrate this value by genuinely respecting, supporting and caring about each other. We find delight in each other’s successes, both personal and professional. We work toward the emotional and physical well-being of our family members at work and home as it is paramount to our success. Our commitment to each other is what sets us apart from other companies.
How long have you been with Rehrig Pacific Co.? I have been with the company eight years.
What do you enjoy most about your responsibilities? I enjoy the day-to-day challenges our operations bring — troubleshooting the struggles and finding counter measures for the issues presented.
What work experiences brought you to this position? Hard work and dedication to the job. If you are willing to learn, you can always continue to progress within the company.
Where do you see your industry going in the next few years? With Amazon, Foxconn and many other companies coming to Kenosha, I can see Rehrig supplying many of their needs. I truly believe in the products we make and am excited to be a part of a successful, growing company. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. We can’t help it; we get excited about plastics and all the other materials that go into pallets, packages, waste and recycling containers and delivery products of all kinds. Our products are some of the lightest, strongest, safest, most efficient, reusable — and clever — on the market today. We’re excited to make even better products tomorrow.
