Fleeing driver crashes into tavern

A Kenosha man said a drug dealer was chasing him when he crashed his vehicle into a local bar and fled, according to Kenosha Police Lt. James Beller.

The 32-year-old driver was traveling west when he lost control of his car and drove approximately 3 feet into the Rain Bar, 3000 Roosevelt Road, around 7 p.m. Monday. The bar was believed to be unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The man left his vehicle and walked north on 30th Avenue, cutting between houses in the residential area, where he was located by officers in the 6900 block of 32nd Avenue.

He told police he was driving to his girlfriend’s house when another driver began threatening him and he was concerned for his safety, according to Beller.

The man then crashed his red hatchback into the east side of the building.

He was arrested for operated while intoxicated, operating without insurance and hit-and-run.
