Kenosha man wanted on child porn warrant

A Kenosha man is wanted on a warrant for possession of child pornography.

Benjamin J. Piat, 29, was charged Friday with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, an online file hosting service notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2017 that a user had uploaded numerous images and videos of possible child pornography.

On Jan. 26, 2018, a search warrant was used to obtain records for the Dropbox account, which was found to be from an account listed to Piat at a home on the 8900 block of Sheridan Road.

In February, a search warrant was served on Piat’s home. According to the complaint, downloaded images and videos of child pornography were found on electronic devices belonging to Piat.

Piat is being sought on a $50,000 warrant.

Man arrested at gunpoint after Racine County crash

A 21-year-old Kenosha man was arrested at gunpoint Thursday afternoon on the 1400 block of 22nd Avenue after he allegedly fled from a crash in Racine County.

A Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department deputy was called to the area of Sheridan Road and Highway E at about 3:15 p.m. for a report of a Honda driving with its hood up and heavy front-end damage.

While seeking the vehicle, the deputy learned that Mount Pleasant Police had reported a similar vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run crash.

The deputy found the vehicle on 22nd Avenue and pulled the car over, arresting the driver at gunpoint in a high-risk traffic stop.

The man reportedly told deputies he fled the crash because he was scared.
