TWIN LAKES — A 14-year-old has been arrested after she reportedly stabbed her father’s face with a butcher knife.
According to Twin Lakes Police Chief Adam Grosz, the girl and her 38-year-old father had been arguing Sunday about an online relationship the girl was involved in.
Around 9 p.m., the man was reportedly lying on a cot in a living room of an apartment in the 300 block of Holy Hill Road when the attack occurred.
Police said the girl apparently took two large knives from the kitchen and stabbed her father with a large butcher knife.
The girl’s mother, who was also in the apartment, heard the victim yell. When she came into the room, she saw the girl standing over the man holding the two knives.
The mother told police the girl began walking toward her and threw down the knives. The victim then held the girl on the ground while the mother called police.
The man was taken to Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington and then transferred to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The girl was taken into custody and is being held in the Racine County Juvenile Detention Facility.
The incident remains under investigation by Twin Lakes Police. Criminal charges are expected to be referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s office.
Police declined to release the names of the people involved.
