PLEASANT PRAIRIE — A Twin Lakes woman was arrested after she was found passed out in a home, surrounded by Goldfish crackers.

Dana M. Schmitz, 26, made an initial appearance Monday in Kenosha County Circuit Court facing charges of burglary and criminal damage to property, both as a repeater, according to online court records.

According to authorities, Schmitz broke into a home in the 3800 block of 116th Street Sunday night.

The owners of the home had been away for the day, and when they returned, they discovered their dwelling ransacked, according to Lt. Pete Jung of the Pleasant Prairie Police Department. The homeowners went to a neighbor’s house to call police at 8:18 p.m.

When officers arrived, the found the woman passed out inside the home.

Jung said the woman may have suffered a drug overdose as emergency personnel revived her with two doses of Narcan.

Authorities discovered a bag of Goldfish crackers she had apparently been eating before she passed out.

“She came to and basically didn’t know where she was,” he said.

Medical personnel took her to a local hospital where she was examined. She was then arrested on burglary charges. According to court records, she was released from jail in lieu of a $2,500 signature bond.

A preliminary hearing for Schmitz is set for May 1.
