The Kenosha Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently honored Kenosha County high school seniors with Good Citizen Awards.
Receiving awards were Savannah Kroeger from Bradford High School, Eric Taylor from Christian Life School, Morgan Schmit from Indian Trail High School and Academy, Jamal Hanson from Tremper High School, Heidi Dittmer from Westosha Central High School and Ella Harper-Schiehl from Wilmot Union High School. Evelyn Seymour, from Shoreland Lutheran High School, was unable to attend the DAR ceremony, but will receive her award later at her school recognition event.
They each received a certificate, pin and monetary award.
After their applications were evaluated, one student was selected to be sent to the Wisconsin Good Citizen chair. Jamal Hanson was selected and placed third at the state level. He received an additional certificate and monetary awards.
This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities. These students are selected by their teachers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.
