Vendor name: Donovan Scherer’s Studio Moonfall
Phone number: 262-945-5055
Where are you from? Kenosha
How long have you been selling at the market? Nine years
What dates in 2019 do you plan to be at the market? Until Aug. 24
Products sold at the market: All-ages illustrated novels in fantasy, horror and science fiction that I write, illustrate and self-publish.
Top seller on Saturdays at the market: “Fear & Sunshine” books
How did you get started? I went to school for graphic design at Gateway and am using those skills to bring my own stories to life.
What do regular customers say about you? “Where’s the next book?!”
What do you like about Kenosha’s market? I love having familiar faces stop by to see how my business has grown over the years.
What’s your most unique or unusual market story? Aside from Harbor Market, I travel around the Midwest (and sometimes beyond) doing comic conventions to introduce “Fear & Sunshine” to new people. I think my tent at HarborMarket brings a taste of Comic-Con to Kenosha. And we’ll get even more of it when I open the Studio Moonfall publishing workshop in downtown later this summer!
Do you have other favorite stands at the market? I’m set up near the Kettle Corn booth on the south side of the market and spending every Saturday morning in the scent of their cheesy caramel popcorn is always a treat to start the day.
PHOTOS: Tall ships in the Kenosha harbor
Tall ships return to the Kenosha harbor this week as part of the Tall Ships Challenge Aug. 2-4.
Vessels will arrive in a “Parade of Sail” on the afternoon of Aug. 1, led by Kenosha’s own tall ship – the schooner Red Witch. The Parade of Sail is free to view. People may view the Parade of Sail along the lakefront from Pennoyer Park, south to Eichelman Park.
Here are some photos of the tall ships previous trips to the Kenosha area.
