Sip & Swipe Cafe computer class set

KENOSHA — Adults interested in learning how to use a computer tablet are invited to the Sip & Swipe Cafe.

Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services is offering the events in August and September, starting Tuesday. In the free class, participants will learn the basics of the computer tablet in small classes with volunteer coaches.

Sessions are 1 to 2 p.m. each Tuesday through Sept. 10 at the Kenosha Senior Center, 2717 67th St., and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16, 23 and 30 at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave.

Southwest Library to host ‘Kid Science’

KENOSHA — “Kid Science” takes place 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Uptown Library, 2419 63rd St.

In this hands-on science workshop, children in kindergarten through fifth grade can learn the ins and outs of different concepts through crafts, games and experiments.

KENOSHA — “Brown Bag Movies” begins at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Northside Library, 1500 27th Ave.

Everyone is invited to bring a lunch and enjoy “Moana” on the big screen.

Social Justice Book Club to meet

KENOSHA — The Social Justice Book Club meets 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Northside Library, 1500 27th Ave.

The club explores books about race, gender, immigration, poverty and criminal justice issues.

SALEM LAKES — The Westosha Dems will meet 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Library, 24615 89th St. The group will share events of the Kenosha County Democratic Party and discuss issues of western Kenosha County.

Wednesday is Chess Night at library

KENOSHA — Everyone is invited to play chess Wednesday at the Kenosha Chess Association’s Chess Night.

Games are 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave. Those under age 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

‘Bee Keeping for Beginners’ continues

SOMERS — The second part of the “Bee Keeping for Beginners” class meets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hawthorn Hollow, 880 Green Bay Road.
