Instant Pot workshop in Wilmot

WILMOT — A workshop on how to use an Instant Pot takes place 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Wilmot High School, 11112 308th Ave.

Participants will make several different recipes, learn some important tips and try some foods made in the Instant Pot.

No Instant Pot nor advanced cooking experience is required.

The cost is $10, plus $10 for supplies.

School board candidate to host listening session

KENOSHA — Kenosha Unified School Board candidate Kyle Flood will host a listening session 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Library, 7979 38th Ave.

The public is encouraged to attend and share their funding priorities for the school district.

Superintendent Sue Savaglio-Jarvis and Unified Chief Financial Officer Tarik Hamdan are also scheduled to take part.

Thanksgiving basket giveaway at churchKENOSHA — Fellowship Baptist Church, 1700 89th St., will host its annual Thanksgiving basket giveaway Saturday.

Free turkey with all the fixings, while supplies last, will be provided starting at 10 a.m.; limit one per family. Doors open at 8 a.m.

A free lunch will also be served until 1 p.m.

Invasive species workday at Pringle

BRISTOL — An invasive species workday takes place 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Pringle Nature Center, 9800 160th Ave.

Volunteers will help remove undesirable non-native, invasive plants. Participants should bring their own work gloves; tools will be provided.

This is the final workday of the year. Monthly workdays will resume in the spring.

Winters arts & crafts fair at Parkside

SOMERS — The UW-Parkside Winter Arts & Crafts Fair will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main campus complex at the school, 900 Wood Road.

This fair, with free admission, features more than 160 artisans and crafters as well as a raffle and silent auction, concessions and coat and package check.

Free shuttle service is available from the parking lots to the complex.

Comics, collectibles show slated Sunday

PLEASANT PRAIRIE — The Kenosha Comic Book and Collectibles Show will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Double Tree by Hilton, 11800 108th St.

AAUW hosts Centennial Tea

KENOSHA — AAUW Kenosha is hosting a Centennial Tea to celebrate the branch’s 100th anniversary.

Open to the public, it will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Kenosha Women’s Club.

Tickets are $20.

Fiction writers workshop set

KENOSHA — The Fiction Writers Group meets 12:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Northside Library, 1500 27th Ave.

There will be a short presentation followed by an “open write,” where everyone can work on their own writings.
