A former Central High School student was charged after a social media posting was perceived as a school shooting threat.

Anthony Chacon, 17, of Kenosha, was charged Tuesday with making a terrorist threat, a felony, along with disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department deputy was contacted by someone who reported seeing Chacon posting a Snapchat story Monday with a photo of himself pointing a handgun with the caption that stated “hop in a gym shoot everything but the rim.”

According to the complaint, Chacon, a former Central student, told a detective he sent the photo to about 30 people on his Snapchat account and that he was quoting rap lyrics.

He told the detective “he did not wish to hurt others or commit a mass shooting.”

He told the detective the photo was old and that he did not know where the gun was.

He posted $500 bond.
