A Kenosha homeowner walked into his garage to find someone pushing his lawnmower down the driveway.

The homeowner said he arrived at his home in the 5500 block of 41st Avenue Sunday and noticed a man watching him from across the street.

After going into his house briefly, he walked back into his garage to see the same man taking his lawnmower.

The homeowner called police and held the man on his property until officers arrived.

Murphy Hooks, 61, of Kenosha, was charged Monday with burglary. According to his criminal complaint, he told police he had gone into the garage “because he admired how clean it was and he pushed the lawnmower out because he does lawn work.”

He is being held on $400 bond.
