National Quilting Day will be celebrated in Kenosha Saturday, with a quilting workshop and lecture.
Catherine Redford will be teaching the workshop 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 First Ave. She will be teaching an English paper-piecing class titled “Clamshell Pillow.”
A lecture, “Language of Flowers,” will follow at 2 p.m. Limited free tickets to the lecture will be available starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Born in England and now residing in Naperville, Ill., Redford is an internationally acclaimed quilter and fiber artist.
She has appeared many times on Quilting Arts TV, is a regular contributor to Modern Patchwork Magazine and has been seen in issues of International Quilt, Festival Quilt Scene Publications.
She is the author of two QATV workshop DVDs, several books and has 16 years of teaching and lecturing.
The cost of the workshop is $40, plus $15 for supplies.
