Trash pickup on schedule for Good Friday

Trash, recycling, bulk and tire collections will have a normal pickup schedule on Friday, which is Good Friday.

However, the Kenosha Municipal Building will be closed, as will be the yardwaste and brush/branch drop-off site, 4701 88th Ave.; the bulk drop-off site, 1001 50th St.; and the concrete and brick/block drop-off site, 6415 35th Ave.

Good Old Summertime Art Fair set

The Good Old Summertime Art Fair deadline has been extended to April 30.

Artists and crafters are invited to participate in the June 2 event in Civic Center Park in downtown Kenosha.

Tall Ships Festival seeks art fair vendors

The Kenosha Tall Ships Festival is seeking participants for an art fair as part of the festival Aug. 1-4 at the downtown harbor.

Completed vendor applications and payments are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday in Room 300 at the Kenosha Municipal Building, 625 52nd St.

‘Wall of Honor’ to recognize local veterans in Pleasant Prairie Post Office

PLEASANT PRAIRIE — The Pleasant Prairie Post Office and Pleasant Prairie Women’s Club are joining together to honor our local veterans by creating a “Wall Of Honor” in the post office.

Residents are encouraged to send copies of pictures of local military personnel past and present in uniform, along with a short, two-sentence biography.

Original photos should not be sent, as the photos will be on display for some time.

Free loan closet seeking items

Kenosha County Aging & Disability Resource Center offers a free loan closet for those in need of durable medical equipment and supplies.

The loan closet is in need of the following items at this time:

Pull-on style incontinence products of every size.

Individuals needing durable medical equipment for either short-term or long-term use, who are not enrolled in one of Wisconsin’s long-term care programs, such as Family Care, IRIS and Partnership, may contact the ADRC to request equipment.

Those who wish to donate, or are in need of medical equipment, should call the ADRC at 262-605-6646 or stop by at 8600 Sheridan Road, Entrance D.

Host families needed

Host families are needed for a pair of foreign exchange students.

One girl, 15, is from Thailand. Her host family canceled, and she has no host family now. She speaks English, has money to pay all personal expenses and has medical insurance.

The other girl, 15, is from France. She needs a home in Kenosha for school in the fall.
