Kenosha Police are investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby.

Paramedics and police were called to an apartment in the 1900 block of 43rd Street at about 9:15 a.m. Friday for a report of a baby who had no pulse and was not breathing.

According to police scanner reports, the caller told the dispatcher that the baby girl was blue and was not responding.

Life-saving efforts by paramedics were unsuccessful, and police asked for the medical examiner to come to the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police are not releasing any information about the identities of the child or family involved.

“The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released when they become available,” according to a statement from the department.
