PLEASANT PRAIRIE — Police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a man who had an apparent gunshot wound near 75th Street Monday night.

The man was discovered after a caller reported seeing him outside Cheddar’s, 10366 77th St., near the Shoppes at Prairie Ridge in the village around 8:45 p.m, according to law enforcement and dispatch radio traffic.

The restaurant went into lockdown as police searched for a suspect. Other businesses were also locked down, with some employees escorted to their cars by police. The search, which also employed a K-9 unit, continued south of 75th Street.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital, but his condition was not known as of press time. Law enforcement reported the victim was neither breathing nor talking when they discovered him at the scene.

Law enforcement does not currently have a description of the suspect involved in the shooting, or a specific area that they believe that the suspect may be located, according to the Kenosha Police Department, which is assisting the Pleasant Prairie Police Department in its investigation.
