Two land in hospitals after assault

Kenosha Police are investigating a fight that left a man with a head injury Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers received a 911 call at 4:55 p.m. Monday about someone being struck with a baseball bat at the intersection of 54th Street and 14th Avenue.

A caller told the dispatcher someone was dying and was being taken to a hospital, then hung up.

Officers who arrived at the intersection found two large pools of blood in the street.

Shortly thereafter, there was a call from Kenosha Medical Center, 6308 Eighth Ave., that a 20-year-old man with a serious head injury was in the emergency room.

That man had significant facial injuries, Kenosha Police Lt. James Beller said.

The man reportedly gave police conflicting stories of how he was injured.

While police were responding to the hospital, they received a second call about an injured 20-year-old man in the emergency room at Aurora Medical Center, 10400 75th St.

That man had an arm injury that police believe was a result of the same incident.
