Police arrested a Kenosha woman who was accused of taking two wedding rings valued at $900 from a couple who had given her a ride to an undisclosed location.

Taken into custody was a 40-year-old woman in the 2:55 a.m. incident Thursday, according to a Kenosha Police report. Police recommended charges of theft and disorderly conduct.

According to the report, the couple was coming from Shenanigans Bar when they were approached by the woman who had asked them for a ride.

The husband did not know the suspect, but felt bad because she was allegedly intoxicated and stranded and decided to help her.

When they dropped her off at the undisclosed location the wife realized that her purse was missing, according to the report.

The husband then knocked on the door of the residence and a man who answered the door said the suspect was in the home but had been kicked out because of her demeanor.

The man later told police that the suspect had barged into the home with two purses and a large black wallet, according to the report.

The man said the suspect had been wearing the rings and then began throwing items over the fence.

The rings were eventually recovered from a trash can along with a pair of pants that she took off while she was at the home, according to the report.
