Kenosha police were seeking the driver and possible passengers of a vehicle that struck at least one power pole in a neighborhood in the 5800 block of 21st Avenue Saturday night.

No one was reported injured in the 8:15 p.m. crash, Lt. Joseph Riesselmann of the Kenosha Police Department said Sunday.

Initial reports indicated that the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.

No one was located, however, and police have contacted the vehicle’s owner as the investigation continues.

“It was a vehicle that took out one or two power poles, a couple of fences and ultimately landed next to a house or garage,” he said. “We canvassed the area and didn’t locate anybody.”

Riesselmann said We Energies crews worked to remove the poles and restored power to a few homes affected by a localized outage after about 10 hours.

The report initially involved a call of gunshots fired; however, they were unfounded, he said, adding what they had heard was the collision.
