Recently on Rewind: Your Week in Review, WisconsinEye senior producer Steve Walters and Associated Press Capitol correspondent Scott Bauer discussed the Democratic National Committee deciding to downsize the Democratic National Convention that was set to take place in Milwaukee on August 17-21. The event will now move from the Fiserv Forum to the Wisconsin Center and delegates will cast their ballots for Biden from home, but Biden and party officials will still visit Milwaukee. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett responded by saying, "No one could have ever predicted what we've experienced as a nation, as a world, as a city, over the last four months. Obviously, this is not something that I'm excited about." Walters and Bauer also discussed the negative financial impact of the DNC event change for Wisconsin. "There's bipartisan sadness for the economic impact for certain, and I think Democrats feel a sadness for this, certainly, once in a generation opportunity maybe once in a lifetime opportunity to host a convention is not going to happen they way they had hoped," Bauer said.
