WisEye Morning Minute: Evers Budget Spends Down the Surplus

On this episode of Rewind: Your Week in Review, the new WisconsinEye host and Capital Times state politics and government reporter Briana Reilly and WisPolitics.com editor JR Ross discussed Governor Tony Evers' approach to his re-election budget. JR highlighted Gov. Evers' appeals to his Democratic base as well as including a $1.6 billion increase for K-12 education. Briana added that this is a $91 billion budget with K-12 education being the biggest driver for spending within it. However, last time, out of his $1.4 billion proposal, only $500 million was approved by Republicans.
