WisEye Morning Minute: Senate Committee on Disclaimer of Parental Rights Bill
The Senate Committee on Human Services, Children and Families held a public hearing on Senate Bill 29 relating to a disclaimer of parental rights and payments allowed in connection with adoption. Testifiers in support of the bill said that if this bill was already in place, they would've likely finalized their first daughter's adoption. However, they experienced roadblocks due to the actions of the birth parents. "We sincerely hope that our voices may be able to help enact legislation to prevent a similar situation from happening to any other child and their adoptive family."
